The Water Safety Syndicate exists to help bridge the gaps across the aquatics and drowning prevention field. Too often, researchers, swim instructors, public health professionals, organizations, and advocates are working toward the same goal without a shared space to connect ideas, translate evidence, or strengthen practice together. The Syndicate was created to make water safety research more usable, more visible, and more actionable for the people doing the work on the ground. It also reflects a growing need for stronger instructor development and clearer standards around teaching quality, not just curriculum. By connecting research, practice, and professional collaboration, the Water Safety Syndicate aims to help move the field toward a more informed, aligned, and effective future.
